Lipid Profile Test (Cholesterol) Explained
A lipid profile scans your blood for abnormalities in lipids, such as cholesterol and triglycerides. It helps assess your risk of heart disease.
Key Parameters
Total Cholesterol: < 200 mg/dL (Desirable)
LDL (Bad Cholesterol): < 100 mg/dL (Optimal)
HDL (Good Cholesterol): > 40 mg/dL (Men), > 50 mg/dL (Women)
Triglycerides: < 150 mg/dL (Normal)
Interpreting Results
High LDL or Triglycerides increase the risk of plaque buildup in arteries. High HDL is considered protective against heart disease.
